Below are some different services and programs to help you get started in junior and adult competition and
match play. Navigating Junior and Adult competition pathways can sometimes be daunting and confusing.

Juniors
Initial entry into competition starts with Junior Team Tennis - a USTA SoCal program.
Junior tournament play begins with entry level 7 stair-stepping all the way up to National invitation
tournaments. Once a junior reaches level 4 he or she will be competing with the top juniors at
appropriate age levels in Southern California.

Ladies Competition
​
The marine league is a prolific and comprehensive competition format for ladies of all levels. Every club
and every tennis facility has multiple teams and they are all inclusive with the league having a long and
rich history.

Alta Vista Tennis Center
No pre-registration needed. $8.00 continuous play (annual subscription - $17)
Mon-Fri 8 AM - 11 AM. Balls provided. Everyone welcome. Ability levels 3.0 - 4.0

Hitting Services
A few clubs offer hitting services where you will hit with a top junior or good player for a fee.
No lesson, just hitting. There are many independent hitters who offer this service in Palos Verdes and
the South Bay. Contact Lee DeYoung for more information.

Stringing Services
Every club, tennis facility, and tennis retailer offers stringing, however there are many independent
stringers in the area. Contact Lee DeYoung for one nearest you.

Demo the newest and top of the line Wilson rackets on court with advice on which racket would best be
suited for your game. This service is free and by appointment only. 30 minutes of hitting with the
newest racket technology from Wilson. Also if you don't know your National Tennis Rating
Program number (NTRP) you will be given one by Lee during this session. All play tests will be at a
